Known for its size, wealth of facilities, friendly and always smiling staff, and breathtaking 180 degree views of Jimbaran Bay, this 13bed listing is the best option money can buy for a large group!

It consists of one 8bed and one 5bed villa only 170m apart. It is the best choice for yoga lovers: it has an outdoor yoga shala that fits 10-12 people. The best choice for adrenaline junkies: it has a fully equipped gym. The ultimate choice for movie lovers:it has 2 home cinema rooms (one per villa). And an ideal choice for guests who are looking for some true relaxation Bali style:it has two spa rooms (one per villa).

And don’t get us started on the space. Let us just tell you that the 8bed villa is set in 6.070m2 of land. Should we also mention the two large pools with jaw dropping views of Jimbaran Bay? And what about the plunge pool and bathtub in the master bedroom (of the 8bed villa) with the same view?

Kids will spend endless time running around the grass area of the 8bed villa, diving into the large pools and watching their favourite movies in the home cinema rooms. They might also enjoy learning traditional Balinese dancing (just ask the staff to arrange). Adults shouldn’t complain. There’s also plenty of fun stuff to do for them. Book a yoga lesson or meditation at the yoga shala. Test your cooking skills with a Balinese cooking lesson. Ask the staff to prepare the most amazing BBQ and top it up with one too many margaritas at sunset.

Sleepwise there are both twin bedrooms for singles and children – 5 in total – and double bedrooms for couples – 6 with king size beds and 2 with queen beds. Hurry up and choose the master bedroom of the 8bed villa with its amazing views, private office space, plunge pool and ultra luxury en-suite villa. Or opt for the upstairs bedrooms of the 5bed villa with private balconies overlooking Jimbaran Bay.

All bedroom suites are generous in size and feature office space, private lounge area, safety deposit box, hair dryer, AC, en-suite bathroom. Most rooms also have private balconies, day beds, and walk-in closets – while all bedrooms have closet space. Most en-suite bathrooms have 2 sinks and freestanding bathtubs (in addition to the shower).

The neighbourhood:

The villa is located in Jimbaran and gets the best of both worlds: both Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. 10 minutes from the villa, you will find two of our favourite less touristy beaches, with white sand and clear blue waters. These are Melasti and Pandawa beaches. In contrast to most beaches in Bali, these beaches are kid friendly as they rarely have waves. Stay until sunset and watch the famous kecak dance at Melasti beach (insider tip: it will be much less crowded than the kecak dance performed at Uluwatu temple).

In terms of food, apart from the Jimbaran fish restaurants (see below) we definitely suggest: 1) Cuca for some serious tapas style food. Do try the honey-baked pumpkin salad, the smoked butterfish and the BBQ octopus and house cocktails 2) Sundara elegant beach club with luxe ocean views, a zero waste cocktail list and high end BBQ 3) Kisik Lounge & Seafood Restaurant mimicking a sea food market with oh-what-a-beach-view 4) Nelayan restaurant with its chic boho beach shack and its fusion of Mediterranean and Balinese cuisine. Whatever you do, do visit Samasta Lifestyle Village, an open space shopping mall with so much more to offer than a traditional Western mall. We are just saying family-friendly cafes, outdoor kiosks, and 17 outlets…

Jimbaran beach, also close by, with its famous fish market and fish restaurants by the beach is not to be missed. Here you will eat the freshest fish in Bali, often accompanied with traditional dancing. The fish restaurants by the beach are definitely touristic and a bit pricey but we promise you it is all worth it. For the braver ones, you can also select fresh fish, lobster and crabs and eat it at the fish market with your bare hands. They cook it for you on the spot and they put some delicious – often spicy – sauces on top.

GWK cultural park is definitely worth a visit. Here you will find the second tallest statue in the world. The Statue of Lord Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda is measured at a majestic height of 121 metres. To put this into perspective, New York’s Statue of Liberty stands at 93 metres. As well as the tallest statue in the world, GWK Park features different venues such as the Lotus Pond, Plaza Garuda presided over by the immense statue of Garuda, and Plaza Wisnu, amongst others. The Cultural Park also hosts various Balinese performances and restaurants. You can easily spend a day here if you wish to.

And if you are looking for an adrenaline boost, paragliding at Gunung Payung cliff and watersports at Nusa Dua (Tanjung Benoa beach) are both quite near. Water activities range from the more mainstream banana boat, roulette doughnut and snorkeling, to the more adventurous fly boarding, parasailing, jet skiing, wake boarding and water skiing. A relatively new toy is fly boarding where you can fly up to 10 metres from the sea while throwing some tricks to impress your friends. The best part? It is quite easy to do as it comes as naturally as walking. Another interesting one is the seawalker where you wear astronaut- like gear and literally walk on the bottom of the sea. In contrast to scuba diving (also available), you do not need any previous practice/knowledge. Tanjung Benoa is definitely the place to go if you are looking to spend your day doing watersports.

Getting around:

We can provide a 14seater Hiace mini bus with driver for $85 USD = 1.200.000 IDR for 8 hours or $55 US = 800.000 IDR for 5 hours. Alternatively, the staff can help rent a motorbike. Prices range from $5.5 USD = 80.000 IDR for a standard Vario to $18 US = 250.000 IDR for the more premium Nmax.

Awesome!!! We chose this as a joint hen/stag do (hens in the bigger villa, stags in the smaller villa) and it was the best. We’re not big party animals any more so hanging out making cocktails by the gorgeous pools was perfect, we arranged for treatments and massages, did dancing classes…We also did a day trip to hang out at Sundara beach club which was so cool. We had some meals prepared at the villa and that was immense. Also, highly recommend hitting up the seafood restaurants down in the bay. The guys mainly drank beer and did some crazy water sports if that’s your thing. The villas are both beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the views are out of this world. Real five-star luxury.

Stayed here as a large family group and it was popular with all the ages, especially my young children who enjoyed having so much space to run around, a pool, safe beaches (and I enjoyed that they happily stayed in the cinema room while I had a spa treatment). The staff were so helpful and very kind/patient to both my small children and to my older parents. We loved this tranquil spot and felt totally relaxed and refreshed after a week here.

I don’t often write reviews, but I had to make an exception this time. We travelled for a family celebration and chose these villas mainly because they had enough space for our group. Turned out we made a fantastic choice. This was something a bit special. The location is breathtaking, the villas themselves are stunning. We ended up really enjoying the smaller details: the Balinese décor and stories in the bedrooms were the start, and then we also decided to try the classes, in Balinese cooking and making offerings and we all really got a kick out of it. Totally different experience to staying in Seminyak or Canggu! Really recommend.

  • Seminyak

    thumb

Seminyak is the queen of our hearts. A chic tropical version of Paris.

You have not been to Seminyak if you have not strolled around its boutiques, gone to Petitenget for a coffee, had a real Balinese dinner at Made’s Warung, watched the sunset from Potato Head and ended up at a night club for one too many drinks.

  • Canggu

    thumb

Canggu takes a more laid back approach to life. Hipster is the word here.

Take your morning latte with coconut milk at one of the many organic cafes and go for a late lunch at Betelnut (one of the first restaurants to open here). If you don’t have a sunset photo by Batu Bolong beach and did not end up for a late beer at Old Man’s, you have not really been to Canggu.
