Stay at Uma Santai, a Japanese-inspired 7-bedroom villa in Pererenan with a 13-metre private pool, tropical gardens and a private spa pavilion.

Bring the Whole Family to This Japanese-Inspired 7-Bedroom Villa

Uma Santai gives your family and friends group plenty of room to holiday your way. This large family villa in Bali, with Japanese-inspired interiors and lush tropical gardens, spans 600 square metres and has seven bedrooms. Enclosed living spaces offer comfort throughout the day, while the private pool takes centre stage outside. The villa sleeps up to 14 guests, with an extra bed available for a 15th guest at an additional cost. Start with breakfast together, spend the afternoon by the pool and come back around the table for dinner.

A Zen-style courtyard with bonsai trees, stepping stones and raked sand connects the villa’s communal areas. Floor-to-ceiling glass, warm timber and clean contemporary lines run throughout, while the two-storey design gives each guest some space away from the main gathering spaces.

One Big Space for Living, Dining and Your All-Day Pool Hangout

Make yourself at home in the spacious, air-conditioned living area. Pick a sofa and settle in with a movie on the 65-inch TV. Or find a quieter spot with a book or for a catch-up. A long timber table brings everyone together for meals. The kitchen has a large stone island for breakfast, drinks and dinner prep. Open the glass doors for the garden breeze or close them for air-conditioned comfort.

A Japanese Zen garden sits at the heart of the villa. Bonsai trees, stepping stones and raked sand create a calm courtyard. Floor-to-ceiling glass keeps the garden in view from inside.

Then there’s the 13-metre pool. Start with a morning swim, cool off in the afternoon or stretch out on an oversized cabana bed. Fire up the barbecue and eat together on the outdoor patio. For some downtime, head to the private massage pavilion tucked away in the garden. It’s an easy setup for anyone looking for large family villas in Bali.

Seven Bedrooms, Room for the Whole Family

Seven bedrooms mean everyone has plenty of space to settle in. Each room is air-conditioned and sleeps two guests. You’ll also have a work desk, wardrobe, vanity and private ensuite. Marble floors, teak furniture and subtle Japanese details keep the look warm and simple.

Five of the bedrooms have king beds. The remaining two have twin beds, which can be converted into doubles when needed. This makes the setup easy to adapt for couples, families and friends. It’s a flexible choice for large family villas in Bali.

Two king bedrooms are on the ground floor with glass doors opening out towards the pool or garden. One room has a sofa and an outdoor bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The other has a private shower ensuite.

Head upstairs for five more bedrooms and a shared lounge. One king room features an alang-alang ceiling and a wraparound balcony – just step outside for views over the pool and garden. Its bathroom features a bathtub beside the window. The remaining bedrooms have private shower ensuites, with some looking out over the surrounding greenery.

Neighbourhood

Uma Santai sits in Pererenan, between the energy of Canggu and the quieter pace of Seseh. Pererenan Beach is around six minutes away, with cafés, bakeries, restaurants and fitness studios a short ride from the villa. Echo Beach and Batu Bolong are also within easy reach for more dining, shopping and nightlife, making the area a practical base for families and groups.

Beaches & Ocean Views

  • Pererenan Beach – Around six minutes by car from the villa. This black-sand beach is used for surfing, beach walks and watching the sunset. The waves and currents can be strong, so conditions should be checked before swimming.
  • Echo Beach – A short drive south, with surf breaks, beachfront dining and direct access to La Brisa. It is also possible to walk between Echo Beach and Pererenan Beach along the sand when tides allow.
  • Seseh Beach – A quieter black-sand stretch north of Pererenan, suited to walks, photography and sunset stops. Strong currents mean it is generally better for enjoying the coastline than casual swimming.
  • Batu Bolong Beach – A longer drive into central Canggu and a common choice for beginner surf lessons, beachfront cafés and an active sunset scene.

Restaurants & Cafés

    • Baked Pererenan – Approximately 600 metres from Uma Santai, serving bread, pastries, coffee and breakfast dishes.
    • Shelter Pererenan – A well-known neighbourhood restaurant serving Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired food in a garden setting. Suitable for brunch, lunch or dinner.
    • Baro Bakery – A local option for sourdough, pastries, breakfast and coffee along the Pererenan dining strip.
    • Bokashi Bali – Japanese-Indonesian dining with an adjoining produce-led concept, suitable for lunch or dinner.
    • Hippie Fish – Positioned close to Pererenan Beach, with Mediterranean-style food, rooftop seating and views towards the coast.
    • Monsieur Spoon Pererenan – A casual stop for pastries, bread, coffee and simple breakfast dishes.
    • Te no Aji – A Japanese restaurant with a small, considered menu, suited to adults and smaller groups.
  • Pescado Bali – A Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant known for seafood, paella and dishes designed for sharing.

Beach Clubs & Sunset Spots

    • La Brisa Bali – Set directly on Echo Beach, with swimming pools, daybeds, food and sunset views. Its design uses reclaimed timber from old Indonesian fishing boats. Advance reservations are useful for larger groups.
    • Hippie Fish Rooftop – A closer alternative in Pererenan for dinner or drinks overlooking the coastline around sunset.
    • The Lawn Canggu – A beachfront venue at Batu Bolong with a pool, lawn seating, dining and regular music sessions.
    • FINNS Beach Club – Located in Berawa and listed approximately 8.6 kilometres from Uma Santai. It offers several pools, restaurants, bars and beachfront seating.
  • Atlas Beach Club – Also in Berawa, approximately 8.6 kilometres from the villa, with beachfront pools, dining areas and live entertainment. Travel time can vary considerably with traffic.

Wellness & Fitness

  • Wrong Gym Pererenan – A training facility offering strength equipment, cardio areas, boxing, functional workouts, yoga and personal training. Day-pass availability should be checked directly.
  • Sehuli Wellness Retreat – A Pererenan wellness space where movement, yoga, breathwork and sound-healing sessions may be organised in advance.
  • RITE Bali – A local yoga studio with scheduled classes suitable for different levels of experience.
  • Udara Bali – Located towards Seseh, offering yoga, meditation, aerial yoga, spa facilities and wellness programmes.
  • In-villa treatments – Uma Santai has a dedicated massage pavilion in the garden. Massage and spa treatments can be arranged in advance and may carry an additional charge.
  • Private yoga sessions – The villa team can assist with arranging yoga or other wellness activities by request, subject to availability and additional costs.

Family & Group Activities

    • Surf lessons – Lessons can be arranged at beginner-friendly beaches around Canggu. Pererenan’s waves are generally better suited to surfers with some experience, depending on daily conditions.
    • Pererenan Beach walks – Head to the coast in the late afternoon for a group walk and sunset, with beachfront warungs available for drinks or a casual meal.
    • Rice-field walks and cycling – Explore Pererenan’s smaller village roads and remaining rice-field areas in the cooler morning hours. Families should take care around traffic and narrow roads.
    • Tanah Lot Temple – Approximately 24 minutes from the villa under normal conditions. The coastal temple is a straightforward half-day outing for mixed-age groups, although traffic can extend the journey.
    • La Brisa Sunday Market – A weekend market at Echo Beach with local produce, food, clothing and handmade goods. Schedules should be checked before visiting.
    • Private barbecue at the villa – Use the poolside patio and barbecue area for a group meal without leaving the property. Cooking support and groceries may involve additional charges.
    • In-villa dining – Meals can be prepared and served at Uma Santai by prior arrangement, useful for families travelling with younger guests or groups planning a night at home.
  • Pool day at the villa – The 13-by-3-metre private pool, cabana beds and outdoor dining patio provide an easy activity day for the full group. Children should always be supervised around the pool.

Getting around:
We can provide a Hiace mini bus with driver for USD 89 = IDR 1,500,000 for 8 hours. Alternatively, our villa team can assist with motorbike rentals. Prices range from approximately USD 5.5 = IDR 80,000 for a standard Vario to USD 18 = IDR 250,000 for a premium NMAX.

Private drivers, airport transfers, day trips, and additional transport arrangements can also be organised by the villa team upon request.
