What Makes This North Ubud Estate Worth the Trip?

Set across 31,000 square metres, the estate of Villa Kelusa overlooks the Pakuseba River Valley, with terraced rice fields stretching towards the surrounding jungle. The west-facing property captures sunset views across the surrounding farmland and mountains, visible from the pools, bedrooms and open-sided pavilions.

Two main sections, Pondok Surya and Pondok Sapi, give the estate its flexible layout. Each has its own private infinity pool and social space. One group can spend the afternoon swimming while another watches a film or gathers for drinks. The estate also features four bedrooms, plus a media room that can convert into a fifth bedroom. There’s also two living areas, two dining areas, two kitchens, wide garden lawns and parking. With enough shared space for up to 10 guests, the layout works particularly well for two families or groups of friends.

Two Infinity Pools, Two Completely Different Settings

A 21m x 2m infinity lap pool lies at the heart of Pondok Surya, passing right through the centre of the living space. As the living space has open sides, you can jump directly into the pool from here. Cross the pool via a walkway, or enjoy casual meals or drink within the pool at the swim-up table.

At the other end of the estate there is a second infinity pool, measuring 5m x 10m. This sits beside an open-air cabana, landscaped lawn and rock garden. Sun loungers and pool umbrellas line the pool, which overlooks a planted rice terrace and the surrounding jungle. It’s an inviting spot for lunches, afternoons by the water and sunset drinks.

More Than a Villa Stay: Walking, Cycling and Yoga in Kelusa

Kelusa Village offers a different side of Ubud, away from the busy central streets. Guests can walk through nearby rice fields, explore local roads using the villa’s four complimentary bicycles or arrange a guided route towards the river with the staff. A yoga class or cultural experience is also included during your stay.

Back at the estate, two open-air pavilions provide separate places to gather.  Each has its own lounge, fully equipped kitchen and infinity pool. Families can play, gather or enjoy a barbecue on the wide lawns. Two TV areas provide entertainment, including an air-conditioned media room that can be converted into a fifth bedroom. A private entertainment cabana sits beside the second pool.

In-villa dining, massages, transport and day trips can be arranged, making it easy to combine Ubud adventures with days around the pools and pavilions. We include your daily breakfast in the price, while lunch, dinner and barbecues are available at an additional charge. Four Bedrooms, Two Buildings, More Privacy

Villa Kelusa sleeps eight guests as standard and up to ten with additional arrangements. All four bedrooms feature air-conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. With two bedrooms in each building, the layout gives families, friends and couples room to stay together without sacrificing privacy.

Pondok Surya has two bedrooms: an upstairs king room with terrace access, a wooden bathtub and shower, plus a ground-floor king-or-twin room with an ensuite shower. The two-storey Glass House near Pondok Sapi adds a king room and a flexible king-or-twin room, both with bathtubs, showers and rainforest or rice-field views.
